E2E Video Core & Fixed Access Specialist
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, Plan, implement and support shared video core or video access technology solutions and coordinate the implementation effort in all Millicom LATAM 11 Markets (GT, ESV, HN, NIC, CR, PA, CO, BO, PY, EC and UY) for central plataforms and ecosystems such as ONETV, DVB-C/S, DAA, FTTH and new adopting technologies associated to fixed information technology domains as part of the Tigo Technology Center.
- Specialist level operation, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Regional digital video Distribution environment, that includes QAM, multicast, ABR, DTH solutions and its directly related Cloud Infrastructure or network transmission (local or International) segments including international IP Video Transport Capacity.
- Specialist level Operation, maintaining, and troubleshooting the shared systems that provide cpe control, service activation and advanced management of CPE features.
- Support for after-hours implementation or incident requests that respond to business emergencies
- On-Call periodic rotation shifts to fulfill as a Tier 2 front desk representative for the Regional E2E Video Core & Fixed Access Group
- Utilize knowledge and expertise to research and resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure customer’s satisfaction
- Collaborate with Integration, R&D, project and product teams, provide technical input to the business and functional requirements for the software products and services to ensure stability, scalability and quality of the product and services
- Proactively design event monitoring solutions for systems to anticipate and mitigate problems
- Execute capacity planning tasks: reporting and implementation of capacity growth initiatives.
- Core Platforms versions management, patching, security enforcing and periodic risk mitigation thru software remediations.
Core Technical Knowledge
- Video Content Delivery Network solutions and protocols to deliver IP video such as Multicast, IP Networking
- Fixed access networks and its technologies such as HFC, FTTH and Wifi.
- Routing and networking Protocols: BGPv4, OSPF, ISIS, PIM, MSDP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP.
- Knowledge in Broadband Networks: Switches, Routers, Firewalls, loadbalancers and End user CPEs used at core and access networks.
- Service Activation: OSS flow and API administration.
- IP Protocols: IPv4, IPv6.
- Video/content acquisition from Satellite or IP like SRT, Zixi.
- Linear Video, VOD and OTT processing and distribution
- Video compression solutions and protocols: HLS, HSS, ATSC, DVB-C/Sx, MPEG-2,MPEG-DASH, H.264/MPEG-4/AVC, H.265/MPEG-5/HEVC
- Service Level Agreements Management (SLAs)
- Cloud Infrastructure management with a focus in Openstack.
